A famous painting by the late artist George Rodrigue will be hung in the Lake Charles City Hall for display.

Rodrigue's son, Jacques, gave a copy of the painting to the City Council last Wednesday, it's called “Midnight in LaPlace”.

Dad always said if he wasn’t from Louisiana, he probably never would have started painting in the first place... this is a perfect representation that brings together the greatest parts of (his) career. - Jacques Rodrigue

Mayor Nic Hunter also said that the "George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts" is a new sponsor of the city's Partners in Parks and they will work together preparing a program in March at McMillian Park that will feature art making and food.
