Back before there was Luna and MacFarlane's Celtic Pub or even the Lake Charles Civic Center, surely there was some kind of nightlife in the area.

Well, Jim Beam will tell us just what early residents of the area did on a hot Friday night.

I don't know about you, but I'm curious to know what the folks in this area did back then. I'm sure there were no 'Ladies Nights' or even 'Happy Hours' for that matter? How did they party after a tough day in the lumber industry.

Former American Press Editor, Jim Beam, will no doubt answer those questions and many more when he presents 'Tidbits of History: Nightlife in Early Lake Charles' at the Southwest Louisiana Genealogical & Historical Library at 411 Pujo Street on Tuesday, February 3rd starting at 10 a.m. It's a free exhibit.
