The Gulf States Shipbuilders Consortium (GSSC) will host human resources professionals, managers, and business owners from the shipbuilding and repair industry at its 2014 fall meeting, Wednesday – Thursday, Oct. 1-2 at L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles, 777 Avenue L’Auberge. Suppliers, educators, and supporting industries will also participate in the event.

Attendees will have an opportunity to share perspectives on workforce challenges facing the industry. Regional and national experts will cover topics such as Marketing for the Skilled Trades, Communicating with a Multi-generational Workforce, and Understanding Violations and Penalties. The National Maritime Education Council will update the group on efforts to develop a national workforce development system for the maritime industry. Steve Hale, Chairman and CEO of Gulf Copper, will deliver the keynote address.

“This is a ‘must attend’ event for anyone who is interested in or concerned about workforce issues in the shipbuilding and repair industry.
