Cirque du Soleil will be performing in Lake Charles for the first time ever in April 2016 with OVO, its newest touring show in arenas. The production will be presented at the Lake Charles Civic Center from April 8 to April 10 for 3 performances only, as part of a global tour in arenas around North America. The show is presented by Visa Signature®.

Cirque du Soleil cast and crew are assembling now in Lake Charles to rehearse their new show, OVO, over the next few weeks before debuting it to North American audiences. The first two performances will take place in Louisiana, with the premiere performance seen here at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

“The City of Lake Charles and Lake Charles Civic Center are incredibly honored to have the opportunity to host the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil," says Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach. "The Lake Charles Civic Center’s ability to attract world-class talent to the Lake Area speaks to its vitality and importance to the area’s tourism sector.”

“It is an honor to have world-class performers make Lake Charles their home while they rehearse," says Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Shelley Johnson. "We are looking forward to being wowed by their imaginative and spectacular presentation by a group that is beloved by so many people.”

Thrilling more than 4.5 million people worldwide since the show premiered in Montreal in 2009 as a Big Top show, OVO will embark on a new journey, performing the same captivating production, but now in arenas, giving more people the opportunity to enjoy a Cirque du Soleil show in their own town.
