We feel pretty confident that everyone reading this has a connection to someone with breast cancer. Unfortunately, that’s the common nature of breast cancer in the modern world. While things are better than they used to be – the overall survival rate of breast cancer is now 85 percent – it’s still too low a number by far. Only a 100-percent survival rate would be acceptable! That’s why the Ethel Precht Breast Cancer Walk is so important!

This year’s eighth annual 3K walk is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15 – but an early registration event is being held at Academy Sports on Derek Drive (just south of I-210) this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sign up early and get a T-shirt with your donation! All money raised by the walk go to help the women of Calcasieu and Cameron parishes.

For more information on the walk itself and the registration process, go here. We hope to see you there!
