The only thing The LSU Tigers and McNeese State Cowboys had to worry about yesterday was a let down. Neither team let that happen although the LSU game was a little tighter in the first half.

After the loss to Ole Miss last week. The Tigers did anything but stagger into the first half of their Homecoming game against Furman. LSU led at the half by a score of 20-16. The Tigers roared to life in the second halt though. They rolled our 28 unanswered points in the second half on their way to a 48-16 victory. Zack  Mettenberger had 3 touchdown passes and 328 yards. Odell Beckham had six catches for 204 yards and Jeremy Hill ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns. The Tigers now have a week off (or you can look at it as an extra week to prepare for Alabama.)

The McNeese Cowboys continue to dominate the conference. The Pokes rolled up over 500 yards in offense for the fifth time this season. They also put up at least 50 points for the fourth time this season. Nicholls Sate proved to be no match for the Cowboys as McNeese handles the Colonels 55-30. It was a great team effort by McNeese with the return game giving the Cowboys excellent field position all night long. The Pokes started five Drives inside the Nicholls State 50 yard line.  The Cowboys had a 27-10 lead at the half and just ran the ball the second half. There was no doubt who's offensive line was in charge of this game. There will no doubt be a very large crowd at Cowboy stadium next week when the Pokes host Southeastern. It could be a much tougher game as the Lions come in at 6-2 and 3-0 in the conference.
