I remember when Downtown at Sundown was just getting started. It started off so small just a few years ago and , now, it's grown to be an event that folks in the lake area talk about and look forward to attending.

If you are not that familiar with Downtown at Sundown, It's the perfect way to usher in a weekend with tons of live, local and regional artists performing each week. At Downtown at Sundown, variety is the name of the game and you may hear anything from country to Cajun or Zydeco to folk, but a splendid time is guaranteed for all.

Naturally, no event would be complete without food and you'll be able to keep your appetite satisfied with with everything from burgers to local favorites. If shopping is your thing, you'll find a variety of vendors featuring all sorts of goodies from art to jewelry. Oh, by the by, there are also events and activities for kids as well.

Downtown at Sundown runs from may 19 and continues every Friday until June 9. There is also a traffic note that goes along with this event. If you need to be downtown during the day, keep in mind that, From 2 to 10 p.m. each Friday, Ryan Street—from Iris to the parking lot entrance of the Phoenix Building—will be closed to vehicle traffic in accordance with a special event ordinance.
