It's a great three day event and it's sort of the warning shot fired for crawfish season. Of course, I'm talking about the Downtown Lake Charles Crawfish Festival.   This event started out great and has just grown over the years. Thousands of people are expected to attend this year and, to make it even more enjoyable, the weather is going to be great this weekend. The proceeds from the event benefits local Parkinson disease patients and their families.

For only $10 bucks a day for grown-ups, you can enjoy everything the Downtown Crawfish Festival has to offer including admission to the event, carnival and midway games, live entertainment and, of course, lots of crawfish. In addition to the fun, games and crawfish, there will be local and regional small businesses on hand with all sorts of cool items to sell. Vendors will be selling everything from clothing to farm equipment and from art to some great local favorites when it comes to food.

Things get kicked off this Friday with a parade, carnival and live music. On Saturday you can enjoy lots of tasty mudbugs throughout the day as well as a carnival for the kids and on Sunday, the carnival continues.

Now, how can you go wrong?
