Looking for a fun event this weekend?  Check out the Arts & Crabs Fest this Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall at the Lake Charles Civic Center! Arts & Crabs Fest features an extensive crab and beer tasting, an art walk, and live music to offer an interactive and educational experience of our SWLA seafood and culture.

In 2010, the SWLA Convention & Visitors Bureau got together with the Arts Council to find a way to celebrate the ties between Louisiana seafood and culture.   Arts & Crabs Fest does this by offering a comprehensive experience of the best of Southwest Louisiana’s culture, food, music, and art.

Speaking of Art...there will be music by Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, art by Art du Lac, Susan Hebert, and William Elliott (just to name a few), and artisanal vendors with handcrafted items from jewelry to candles.

Don't forget about the Crabs...dishes will include everything from crab cakes and crab au gratin to crab ceviche and crab gazpacho. Each dish will be paired with a complementary Abita beer sample (including some that are not often seen in restaurants) to complement each dish’s unique flavors and textures.
