Kevin Daigle, 54, was indicted Thursday on charges of first-degree murder and second-degree murder, as well as a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office says that they will seek the death penalty for Daigle's murder of State Trooper Steven Vincent.

Daigle is also facing a charge of second-degree murder since he has also been charged with the death of his roommate. Blake Brewer. Authorities say they believe that Daigle killed both has roommate and trooper Vincent with the same sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun back on August 23, of this year.

Authorities said Vincent was responding to a report of an erratic driver in the Bell City area on Aug. 23 when he came upon Daigle, whose truck was stuck in the ditch. As Vincent attempted to get Daigle out of the truck, Daigle opened the door and shot him with a sawed-off shotgun. Vincent was pronounced dead the next morning. Because Daigle was in Brewer's truck, law enforcement attempted to get in touch with him, but were unable to.

When Brewer didn't arrive for work Monday morning, authorities returned to his home on Hollyvale Road in Moss Bluff and forced their way in. As of this writing, Daigle's trial date has not been set.
