The Texans took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, but it was all McNeese from that point on. The Pokes led 20-3 at the half and 33-3 after 3 quarters. Following the 1st quarter field goal, the Texans never threatened.

Individually, the numbers weren't great for any player because so many played! Starting QB James Tabary completed 19 of 29 passes for 254 yards and 2 TDs. Grant Ashcroft completed 7 0f 12 for 86.RB Ryan Ross had 77 yards rushing on 19 carries. RB Dylan Long returned to score 2 touchdowns. Dariou Crawley caught a pair of touchdown passes. Kicker Trent Manuel added 2 field goals.

Next week the Cowboys travel to Lafayette to play the Ragin' Cajuns. UL-Lafayette lost their season opener at Cajun Field to Boise State 45-10. Kickoff is at 6 and can be heard on 929 The Lake.
