The McNeese Cowboys make the long trip to Conway, Ark., this Saturday evening to take on the University of Central Arkansas Bears on the purple and silver-stripped Estes Field. The Cowboys are 5-0 halfway through season and 4-0 in conference play. The Bears are 3-2 overall and 3-0 in the Southland Conference.

The Bears have won three in a row. The series is tied 4-4. The two teams did not play last year. These are the only two teams left without a conference loss.

The Cowboys enter the game with top ranked defense in the FCS giving up just 244 yards per game, and 6.8 points allowed per game. On offense, the team averages 33 points per contest and has held the ball nearly 10 minutes longer per game than it's opponents. QB Daniel Sams leads the team in rushing with 421 on 81 carries. Ryan Ross is just behind him with 375 on 50 carries. Sams is 66-119 for 796 yards passing with five touchdowns and two interceptions.

UCA began their season losing at Samford and at Oklahoma State. But have won three straight conference games against Northwestern State, Abilene Christian,and last week over Houston Baptist 43-7. The Bears are 20-3 at home since installing their unique home turf.
