McNeese returns to Cowboy Stadium this evening to take on the University of Central Arkansas Bears. Kickoff is at 6. The Pokes are coming off of a heartbreaking 31-24 loss at Southeastern Louisiana last Saturday, while UCA had the week off. The Bears beat Abilene Christian on Oct. 1st, 58-27 and have won 3 in a row. UCA is 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Pokes are 3-3 and 2-2 in the SLC.

The Cowboys holds a slim 5-4 edge in games played between the 2 schools and have one the last 2 including a 28-13 win last year in Conway. The game has been dubbed the "Red Beans and Rice Bowl" and a large cast iron pot serves as the trophy! The name was chosen by the 2 schools to recognize the importance of the rice industry in the 2 states.

The McNeese offense continues to roll averaging over 423 yards per game, 305 of those yards through the air. That ranks 2nd in the SLC and 10th in the FCS. Central Arkansas will bring an offense that averages 475 yards per game which ranks it 11th in the FCS. The UCA defense is the best in the Southland Conference giving up just 305 yards per game.

Both quarterbacks have thrown for over 1100 yards this season. UCA QB Hayden Hildebrand has completed 87 of 148 passes for 1163 yds, 7 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Cowboy QB James Tabary has completed 132 of 221 attempts for 1634 yds, 12 TDs and 3 picks.
