It wasn't pretty, but the McNeese Cowboys will take the 13-3 win over the Lamar Cardinals Saturday evening in Beaumont. McNeese will finish the regular season at 9-2 and 7-2 in the Southland Conference and will wait to find out their playoff fate on Sunday afternoon.

Once again, it was the Defense With Attitude that led the way for the Pokes. Lamar picked up just 207 total yards on offense, only 12 of those came on the ground. The Cards lone score came with 2:53 left in the game on a 43 yard Elvin Martinez field goal.

The Cowboys picked up 351 total yards. David Hamm was the leading rusher with 25 carries for 79 yards. James Tabary had an off night completing 15 of 36 passes for 196 yards and 2 interceptions. His 46 yard pass to Tavarious Batiste was the game's only touchdown. Gunnar Raborn added 2 field goals from 52 and 24 yards to complete the Cowboy's scoring.

The Pokes will now wait for the FCS playoff announcement to see if the receive an at large bid. That will come sometime on Sunday afternoon.
