Cowboys Football Move Up In Latest Polls

What a great way to start the 2018 season for the McNeese Cowboys football team. They went on the road and beat Northern Colorado 17-14 to go to 1-0 on the season.

With the win, the pokes impressed the voters and jumped up in the FCS polls.  The Cowboys moved up one spot to #16 in the STATS poll while jumping up four spots to #14 in the AFCA Coaches rankings.

McNeese will be on the road again this week when the head to Houston to take on Houston Baptist in their first Southland Conference challenge of the year.  The Huskies are coming off of a 49-7 over Southwest Baptist this past Saturday.

Last season the pokes beat Houston Baptist 27-12 here in Lake Charles.  The game is set for this Saturday, September 8th and kickoff is at 6pm.
