The McNeese Cowboys head west again this week to face the 25th ranked BYU Cougars in Provo, Utah. McNeese is 3-0 on the season while the Cougars are 2-1. BYU moved into the Top 25 this week after upsetting #6 Wisconsin 24-21 last Saturday. The Cowboys are ranked 9/10 in the FCS polls. The Pokes are 8-23-1 all time vs FBS schools and have won 2 of their last 3. This will be the first meeting between the 2 schools o0n the football field. The 2 schools have met twice on the basketball court. New McNeese head basketball coach, Heath Schroyer was an assistant at BYU last season.

B J Blunt is off to a good start for the Cowboys defense. He leads the team with 5 sacks, that's tops in the NCAA. He leads the team in tackles with 20. QB James Tabery has completed 54 of 74 pass attempts for 694 yards and 6 touchdowns. RB Justin Pratt has 168 yards rushing, and Cyron Sutton leads the team in pass receptions with 11.

BYU is lead by RB Squally Canada. He has carried the ball 51 times for 265 yards and 5 touchdowns. QB Tanner Mangum has completed 52 of 91 pass attempts for 494 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has thrown 2 interceptions, the only 2 turnovers by the Cougars this season.
