The McNeese Cowboys dominated from start to finish in Nacogdoches Saturday evening with a 35-0 Southland Conference victory over Stephen F. Austin. The Pokes improved to 4-1 on the season, winning their 4th straight. McNeese is now 2-1 in SLC play. SFA fell to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

The Cowboys scored on their opening possession with Cyron Sutton running the ball in from 15 yards out. The touchdown drive was set up by Cody Roscoe's first career interception to stop the Lumberjacks first drive of the game. David Hamm scored early in the 2nd quarter to make it 14-0, and Lawayne Ross caught the first of 3 James Tabary touchdown passes to bring the score to 21-0 at the half.

McNeese put the game away in the 3rd with Tabary tossing 2 more TD passes, one to Kent Shelby, and the other to Parker Orgeron to wrap up the scoring at 35-0. The Cowboys picked up 505 total yards on offense, 342 on the ground. Hamm led the way with 164 while Justin Pratt added 125. Tabary finished 12-24 for 158, Joe Lissard finished the game at QB completing 1-2 for 5 yards. Shelby has now caught a pass in 29 straight games

The defense limited SFA to 224 yards total, and just 61 rushing yards. Dominique Hill had 9 tackles and a fumble recovery. The Cowboys picked up 4 QB sacks in the game and recorded 8 tackles for loss. The McNeese defense has given up just 3 points in the last 2 games.

The Pokes travel to Abilene Christian next Saturday evening with kickoff at 7.
