Hard to believe, but the folks who grow cocoa along the Ivory Coast had no idea what their product was used for. While we take chocolate for granted, the people who grow the raw beans not only didn't know how those beans were used, but they had never tasted the final product. Part of the reason is that the final product is far too expensive for these cocoa farmers.

In the video, the growers get their first taste of chocolate and reveal that they thought the beans were used to make some kind of wine. Just like the rest of the world, the first taste of chocolate is a very happy one. One of the growers even wanted to take the wrapper home to show the kids how their product is used to delight the rest of the world.

Imagine being responsible for one of the world's great taste treats and not knowing what a wonderful thing the finished product is!
