This Spring, Disney will release their new version of The Jungle Book, but don't expect it to look anything like the classic version released by Disney back in 1967. It's a different world out there my friends and even the approach to a classic children's story will reflect the changing times.

Of course, that's not to say that the new version won't be good, but it's kind of hard to improve on the original since, after all, it has withstood the test of time. I have to add that if Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of Kaa is as lackluster as her narration on the trailer, don't expect great things. The fact that she's reading a script is painfully obvious.

Don't expect the remake to resemble the 1967 version in anyway. There are no songs and the overall feel will be much darker when it comes to the villains. If you add to that a pretty stellar cast including the likes of Ben Kingsley and Bill Murray, there is hope for the project. I'll withhold any more comments for after the films release in 2016. The project is slated to be released in the spring.
