Charter School Poll Shows Division in Lake Charles

Both sides kin the charter school issue are passionate and have strong opinions on the issue. If our poll is any indication ... there is division in Lake Charles on this issue.Proponents of charter schools point out that the charter schools are not burdened by the public school systems debt and teacher tenure issues. Public school systems defend their records and point out that charter schools are robbing public schools of much needed funds and that they offer a great education. We did a poll and ask our listeners if they were in favor of charter schools and got no clear consensus toward either side of this debate.

Just over 39% said "yes ... we need charter schools while 32.5% said we did not need charter schools. That is very close. Then almost 28% said they were undecided. That is the largest share of undecided we have seen in our polls and shows a community that is not unified on this issue.
