This is right up there with Jane Fonda posing on an anti-aircraft gun with North Vietnamese soldiers. It seems that during a recent episode of "The Amazing Race", a segment filmed in Hanoi included footage of a piece of a downed American jet and contestants were taught a song about the “glorious” Vietnam Communist Party.

Brilliant! Was it ignorance, arrogance or just plain stupidity that lead them to even let that footage make it to air?

Well, after a massive backlash, CBS has issued an apology.

The official apology from CBS:

"We want to apologize to veterans – particularly those who served in Vietnam – as well as to their families and any viewers who were offended by the broadcast. All of us here have the most profound respect for the men and women who fight for our country.”

Bob Beckel, Co- Host of "The Five", pointed out that the jet, which was indeed shot down during the Vietnam war, was on display in downtown Hanoi to "glorify the killing of the U.S. soldiers on the plane."
