Some folks consider bow hunting to be the truest form of hunting. If you're a bow hunter, get ready to knock an arrow. Two areas will be open for bow hunting starting Monday.

As they say in the advertising world, "Some conditions may apply", so check out the details.

Bow hunting on the Cameron Prairie and Lacassine National Wildlife refuges opens Monday and lasts through Friday, Nov. 9.

Bow hunters are required to carry a signed copy of the refuge regulations while hunting. Each hunter also is required to fill out a Big Game Harvest Report following each hunt.

Hunters on both refuges may enter the hunt areas no earlier than 4 a.m. and may remain no later than two hour after sunset each day.

All-terrain vehicles such as airboats and 3- and 4-wheelers are not allowed on the Cameron Prairie refuge. Boat access for archery deer hunting is allowed Monday through Oct. 15 inside Lacassine Pool and the entire season outside the Pool.
