Were you aware that the drummer for The Black Crowes, Steve Gorman, has his own daily sports talk radio show?  Neither were we until he asked if he could broadcast it out of our studio!

Steve Gorman SPORTS! hits the airwaves in Nashville every weekday from 12 p.m to 1 p.m. on 102.5 The Game.  But on occasions like today, when his "day job" is on the road playing concerts like the one at L'Auberge Casino Resort's Liquid Society, he needs a place to keep the show running.  So he asked us, and of course, we said 'yes!'

Gorman has been hosting the show "on-and-off" for the last five years, he said, but got serious about it when the Black Crowes took a break in recent years.  Gorman, along with brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, is one of the Crowes' founding members. If you ask me, he's the band's secret weapon -- the beat he lays down is thick and tight, and it's the backbone of their signature sound.  But who knew he had a side job in sports?

"I have a lot of musicians on the show, obviously," said Gorman. "It's musicians talking about sports a lot."

It's cool to watch him do the show from the road -- with cell phones and computers, he's able to do the show and take live calls as if he was in his Nashville booth.
