I have to tell you that, with all the ridiculous prices paid for some memorabilia, I really thought that a copy of "Sgt. Pepper's" signed by ALL FOUR Beatles,  would have gone for a great deal more. Still, that not a bad return on the original investment. Back when the album was brand new it probably cost under $5.00

As you can see from the photo, my copy is a bit worse for wear. but, it is an original copy from 1967.

The copy that went for $300,000 must have been in a little better condition. Here's more:

Actually $300,000 is a great deal more than the folks at Heritage Auctions thought the signed "masterpiece" would receive. Their estimate was more in the neighborhood of $30,000.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "an unnamed buyer from the Midwest" ponied up $290,500 for the album, which not only set a new benchmark for signed Beatles memorabilia. Prior to this, the record had been $150,000 paid for a copy of 'Meet the Beatles."
