Born in Port Arthur, Texas, and left for good after graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School then attended Sam Houston State University on an athletic pass, eventually earning a BBA, RAB, and CRMC. Became a Broadcaster on 25 October 1976. Worked for a decade in environmental marketing for a company that cleaned up oil and hazardous materials spills inclusive of many in-plant maintenance projects in the Lake Charles area from 1993-2003. Spent time on oil spills and hazardous incidents that made national news, including the anthrax cleanup at the Central New York City Post Office, following the 911 attack. Broadcasting and media were always my first love and over the years, I've broadcast in Beaumont, Houston, Denver and Lake Charles. Hobbies include small engine repair and vintage lawnmower restoration, woodworking, gardening, and Astros baseball.

The Brady Bunch; Family
Whether you love him or not, you can’t fault him for this: On Monday, Tom Brady didn’t want to talk about the distant past – he was grateful for the Miracle on Kirby comeback win for the Patriots in Sunday night’s Super Bowl.
Brady paid tribute to his mamma, who has been unable to attend games this year due to an undisclosed illness. B...
How’s your feet and them?
In the south when making a friendly inquiry about someones family often we say: how's your mama and them? Meaning how is everyone doing? Have you checked on them recently or heard any good or bad news?
I'm stealing that phrase to check on the well being of the body part that takes a pounding every day all day for the most part...
Babe Ruth
Pitchers and Catchers report within the next ten days, and that's the onset of the 2017 Major League Baseball season - and today, one day after Roger Staubach's birthday is a celebration of sorts of The Bambino's birthday.
George Herman Ruth was born in Baltimore on this day in 1895...
Happy Birthday Roger
About twenty odd years ago prior to a Super Bowl when the Cowboys won in '94, the league held an 'old-timers' game (they may still, I've long since stopped following the pre game hoopla) and members of the 1970's Dallas Cowboys took on assorted members of other teams from the 1960's and 70's...
LSU to Grow Weed
If you’re a contractor with at least $10 million to invest, LSU wants a word with you about growing medical marijuana.
Professor Gauthier of LSU has said there’s already a lot of interest from state borne contractors as well as some from outside of Louisiana who are eager to bid for the bud growing operation.

Work Makes You Crazy
A new study from the land down under says working overtime can contribute to mental health issues. The study found working more than 39 hours a week is actually detrimental to your health. Heck I know people that commute that much each week...
McNeese Students Excel
Most of the time student athletes get all the headlines - today let's call attention to McNeese students who've earned recent regional academic acclaim and awards.
Two McNeese Civil Engineering students, Matthew Mixon of Moss Bluff and Trent Hargrave of Lake Arthur, due to their hard earned academic endeavors have been awarded $1,000 each in scholarships...
Warmer Weather and Snakes
Although it'll be a little cooler this weekend, overall warmer weather means snakes come out sooner – Biologist Annaliese Scoggin tells us increasingly warmer southern weather overall with our shorter winters means snakes are coming out of hibernation sooner – she also cited an ever increasing rat population that entices the serpents to come out for a nutria buffet...
McNeese Picked 4th
The Southland Conference head coaches poll is in and the local nine yardmen are picked to finish fourth this season, behind my alma mater Sam Houston, Southeastern Louisiana and Sabine River rival Lamar. At number five is Central Arkansas...
He Almost Fired Me
Today Farrah Fawcett would have been seventy years old. The daughter of a Corpus Christie, Texas oilfield contractor stunned the world in 1977 with the iconic poster you know so well that sold over 20 million copies. I bought one at the Galleria in Houston and hung it up in the radio control room in Beaumont, at the rock station I worked for then...
Buddy Holly
I might get Gary to play a Buddy Holly song today. February 2nd, 1959 Charles Hardin Holley appeared live in public for the final time at a Rock N Roll show in Clear Lake, Iowa.
It was cold outside, below freezing and windy and in those early pioneer days of music the performers didn't have the luxurious travelling accommodations we associate with 'rock stars' today...
