Eight unsolved murders in Jeff Davis Parish over the last 10 years and, so far, no arrest have been made in connection with those murders. Of course, the rumor mill is working full time when it comes to those cases.

Lately, people have been asking why the Louisiana Attorney Generals Office hasn't stepped in. The answer to that is short and simple:

According to the State Attorney General, Buddy Caldwell, the AG's office has no jurisdiction in the case. Caldwell to KPLC that, "We do have members who are taking part and give assistance for checking information in that matter, but we don't have authority to take it over."

That means that the Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office has full jurisdiction in this highly controversial case.

Accusations and rumors abound in the 10 year old case including accusations that the police are committing the killings.  Of course, speculation is worthless in such matters, but until arrests are made, the rumor mill will continue to work over-time.
