A trip to Washington DC is a must for every American. It is one of the most awe inspiring places in the world. Everyone is touched differently; but everyone is touched.

The things that stood out on my visit were reminders of those who have fought and died for us. It was overwhelming. The Korean War Memorial made me feel like I was in Korea with those brave men. I went on a rain and mist filled day and they are wearing rain gear so it was very surreal. Then I visited the Vietnam wall. Anyone who can visit the wall without crying is not an American.

We all pay tribute today. We all think of those who we have lost; but that pain is even deeper for military members who have seen and felt these losses while in defense of our country. That's why the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery is done with such pride and precision. It's a must watch on Memorial Day.
