It's not a lot of money, but it's a savings none the less.

Here's the scoop on the upcoming state sales tax holiday.

Coming up August 1st and 2nd, most of your purchases will be free of state sales tax. While this won't amount to huge savings on most items, it can still save you money.

The way it works is that the first $2,500 of our purchases will be exempt on items for non-business use. This exemption applies to articles that are purchased or even put on layaway.

Keep in mind that the tax holiday only applies to the 4% state tax. You'll still pay federal and even local taxes on those purchases and the exemption doesn't apply to vehicles or restaurants, hotel rooms, printing or admission to any kind of entertainment facilities.
