Each Saturday and Sunday morning at 9, we replay the actual American Top 40 shows that we all grew up hearing. Now, if you grew up in this area, you no doubt heard American Top 40 on KLOU. My first radio job consisted of making sure American Top 40 ran. To this day, his voice reminds me of my early days in the biz. This week, we'll rebroadcast Casey Kasems show that originally aired on January 10, 1976.

What can you expect to hear?

The week of January 10,1976 found Foghat entering the charts with their very first hit, 'Slow Ride.'

There were quite a few disco songs on the charts and 'Fly, Robin,Fly' by The Silver Convention was at #29 while Donna Summers 'Love to Love you Baby' was at #9.

January 10, 1976 also saw hits from David Bowie, Paul Anka and Paul Simon's '50 Ways to leave Your Lover' was on it's way back down from #1.

But, what was the number one song that week? You'll have to listen to find out, but I'll tell you this much; it was a novelty song that we rarely hear anymore.

Join us Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9 for 'American Top 40, The 70's with Casey Kasem
