7 Foot Gator Crawls Out Of New Orleans Storm Drain
Have you ever wondered what lurks beneath your feet as you walk along the city streets? Chances are under that sidewalk there could be a maze of pipes, wires, and drains, that help keeps the above ground world free of clutter.
It’s when the inhabits of that underworld choose to show their faces on the topside that things really do get interesting. Such was the case in the Bucktown area of New Orleans yesterday.
Steven Nicholson snapped a photo of a 7-foot long alligator climbing out of a storm drain and onto a city sidewalk. That picture was retweeted by WWL Television reporter Natalie Shepard.

To make things worse, this storm drain and accompanying alligator were located very near Marie Riviere elementary school. Fortunately, no children, adults or even alligators were harmed in bringing this case to a close.
