According to a new survey by Autotrader, 66% of people say they keep their dog's needs in mind when they go car shopping.

And 25% have actually changed the type of car they drive because of their dog. Usually that means upgrading to a larger car so there's more room.

Here are a few more results from the survey . . .

1.  77% say their dog likes car rides.

2.  40% have gone on a car trip over 100 miles with their dog.

3.  Almost everyone says their dog has wound up on their lap at some point when they were driving.

4.  And finally, 24% have used their dog as a way to flirt with someone while they were in their car.
