Following a month long investigation, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Gina M. Oakman last Tuesday and charged her with 38 counts of prescription fraud. It seems that, according to CPSO spokesperson Kim Meyers, Oakman, who works at a local doctor's office, had been using her employers DEA number to call in prescriptions for herself over that time period.

The investigation got underway in early April when the CPSO vice division got a complaint about Oakman who had been calling in her own prescriptions. The report didn't specify which drugs were being fraudulently called in.

According to the vice squad, Oakman had been phoning in her own prescriptions for about two years and, over those two years and filled 38 unauthorized prescriptions over a period of about two years.

Oakman was arrested and was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Her bond has been set at $51,000.
