2nd Homicide Reported in Lake Charles Over the Weekend

In addition to the 1st homicide on Friday November 30th, LCPD issued another press release: Officers were dispatched on December 2, 2012 at 6:34 p.m., to 3214 Louisiana Avenue in reference to a shooting.

After officers arrived they found the victim Antony Batiste (26) inside the home, and he appeared to be shot. Batiste was transported to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to LCPD, Batiste was shot as a result of a domestic disturbance. 2 people have been arrested in his death.

Keenan Wade Cedars - White Male, 24 years old, born May, 19, 1988, 3214 Louisiana Avenue, Lake Charles, La.

Austin Benjamin Cedars - White Male, 17 years old, born May, 2, 1995, 3214 Louisiana Avenue, Lake Charles, La.

The 2 were arrested on 2nd Degree Murder charges. Judge Davis has set each of their bonds at $1,000,000,00.

A witness to the murder was also arrested for Possession of a CDS 1 with intent to distribute. Judge Davis has set her bond at $20,000.00.
